Flex / flock printing
Flex / flock printing
Digital printing
Digital printing

This style of printing uses a computer controlled cutting plotter to cut out texts and logos from a single piece of material. The material is then bonded to the item with a heat press. The material is available in two forms.
Flex is a thin, shinny material suited to intricate designs
Flock is thicker with a soft and velvety finish

Flock and flex printing technique cannot be used for multicoloured images, photographs, colour transition or colour fading graphics. If you require this then we would recommend digital printing

Click here for additional information about printing with Flock / flex

Vector Graphics
For best results graphics should be submitted as vector graphics. This is because the cutting plotter works directly from the curves of vector graphics. Vector graphics can be created in programs such as Adobe Illustrator. We accept eps files.

Pixel Graphics
Alternatively you can submit your design as a pixel graphics and we will convert to a vector format. The better the quality of the image the easier this will be (please see submitting graphics for digital printing).

Digital printing is created by printing images onto special transfer paper, this print is then chemically bonded to the garment with a heat press. Digital printing can be used for multicoloured images, photographs, colour transition or colour fading graphics.

We would recommend this technique if you require one of the above options, if you are printing in blocks of colour we would recommend flock / flex printing.

In Addition - we can use a printing technique called sublimation printing, if you want the image on the unisex white subli-t (see our products page). This works in a similar way, however because the subli-t is polymer coated, the image becomes a part of the tee instead of a thin layer sat on top.

Pixel Graphics
Designs can be submitted as pixel graphics in the following formats - JPG, TIFF, GIF, PNG, PSD or Word Docs

If you could save your design as a high quality file between 150 - 300 dpi (no less than 150 dots per inch) the quality of the print will look more sharp when printed. Most images you'll find on the internet are 72 dpi images, these images will loose definition when enlarged. Remember if the image looks fuzzy on your screen it will also look fuzzy when printed.

The recommended resolution in pixel is a minimum of 1280 x 960 pixel

Maximum file size is 2 MB.

If you are still unsure about how to submit your design, please feel free to get in contact with us as we'll be more than happy to help - artwork@ystm.co.uk
